About Brooke

Brooke lit up a room as soon as she walked in and demanded everyone’s attention.  She never knew a stranger and had hundreds of “best friends”. She was like Katherine Heigle in the movie "27 Dresses" being a bridesmaid, maid of honor and even a grooms-maid at close to a dozen weddings in the summer of 2015. Her faith in God was unwavering and her love for her  family, friends and student-athletes was unmatched. She had a passion for sports and her job was right in the middle of that passion as an athletic trainer. She lived her life to the fullest and now resides on the streets of gold with our Heavenly Father.

Brooke Ashton Parker Foundation

The Brooke Ashton Parker Foundation is a non-profit organization created to honor the legacy of our full of life friend and family member. We hope to raise awareness for drunk driving and help provide scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors looking to pursue a higher education.

Congrats to our 2017-18 Scholarship Winners

Claire Marnell

Claire plans to attend Texas Tech University to become an optometrist. Her goal is to use her education to enable her to see the world as she does every day “with perfect clarity”. Claire’s leadership, ability to overcome great challenges, and help others with a selfless heart made her an obvious choice to receive this award. Claire plants to make a difference through treating every situation with a “caring heart and willing spirit”. “To the world, one person’s difference may seem small, but to the person, one small difference means the world”.

Reed Bundy

Reed plans to attend Wayland Baptist University and major in business while playing baseball for the Pioneers. Reed chose business so he can contribute to his family business and one day work side by side with his father. Reed plans to help those around him by giving back to others financially and help those in need. His belief is to pay it forward to others as those have done to him. Others have described Reed as someone with “great Christian values who always shows kindness to others.”

Jose (AJ) Sanchez

AJ plans to attend Howard College and become an athletic trainer. AJ’s future goal is to start a non-profit outreach program to help multiple schools that do not have the benefit of having a full time athletic trainer. He also strives to become a mentor to young high school student trainers. AJ id described by others as a “kind-hearted, compassionate young man with a heart and passion for helping people”. His mentor describes him as having a “heart of gold who will use it to do great things”.

Sloan Payton

Sloan plans to become a physical therapist after graduation and attend Texas State. She has experienced and overcome her own injuries and believes becoming a physical therapist could provide great satisfaction by helping someone recover from injury or by helping to relieve someone’s physical pain. Her career goals are to help others and give back to her local community. Her belief is “by trying to make an impact locally, you can make an impact on the world”.
